Welcome to Dad's Hummels!
As the
name implies, this site is devoted
to selling off my dad's hummels. This is not a fire sale. It's my hope
that I can get these figurines into the hands of people who will love
and appreciate them as much as my father did.
For over thirty years, my father scoured the countryside for every rare
and
unique Hummel he could find. They were his passion. Growing up, I sat
and listened to him talk excitedly about a certain rare variation he
had found or the one gem in a collection he had picked up.
My father knew and accepted this love would not be carried on by me. He
never expected me to keep his collection together. But he wanted me to
try and get them into the hands of people that would appreciate them
and that is what I am going to try and do.
A few
notes about the collection
All
the pieces save two (large size Umbrella Boy and Candleholder), are in
mint condition. I
understand with fragil collectibles there is reason to worry that you
will be getting a mint condition piece. All I can offer you to help
your confidence is this
review of a transaction completed via eBay where the buyer was quite
satisfied. And I will provide more photos if needed.
As
for the photos themselves, I did my best. Some of the trademarks are
inscribed, so they don't photo well. I will provide more photos, as I
said, upon request.
Pricing
I've set the prices at what I think collectors will find reasonable,
but the people interested in profiting off of them won't. I will
consider any offer on the entire set, but I won't just give them away.
My father worked hard to find these figurines and keep them in mint
condition and I want to respect that.
